There are dining experiences you enjoy, and then there are dining experiences you remember for the rest of your life.
This August, the Gascoyne Food Festival invites guests to take their seat at one of Western Australia’s most extraordinary long table lunches as acclaimed chef Jessica Roe brings her talent, creativity and passion for regional produce to the Plantation Feast.
Set amongst the mango blossoms of a working plantation in Carnarvon, this exclusive dining experience combines exceptional food, premium wines, remarkable scenery and the opportunity to experience one of Australia’s most unique food regions through the eyes of one of its brightest culinary stars.
From Farm Girl to Young Chef of the Year
Long before she was leading one of Perth’s most respected kitchens, Jessica Roe was growing up on a farm outside the small town of Noggerup, three hours south of Perth.
Raised outdoors and surrounded by fresh produce, family meals and country hospitality, food was simply a way of life. Family dinners often featured home-grown marron and steak cooked over an open fire while the sun set across the family dam. It was a childhood that instilled a deep appreciation for good produce, shared meals and the connection between people and place.
What began as a shift job at the local pub quickly evolved into a career.
Jessica entered Crown Perth’s highly regarded apprenticeship program and rapidly established herself as one of Australia’s most promising young chefs. Her achievements include representing Australia on the world stage at the Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg, the Culinary Olympics in Germany and the Global Chef Competition in Singapore, where she placed eighth in the world as part of a two-person team.
Today, Jessica is Head Chef of Petition, one of Perth’s most celebrated dining destinations within the iconic State Buildings precinct.
In 2026, she was recognised by the WA Good Food Guide as Young Chef of the Year, cementing her reputation as one of the state’s most exciting culinary talents.
Why the Gascoyne Captured Jessica’s Imagination
For chefs, everything starts with ingredients.
The Gascoyne offers something increasingly rare — produce grown by passionate farming families, harvested at its peak and served close to where it is produced.
From sweet Carnarvon bananas and mangoes to fresh vegetables, herbs and premium seafood landed from the pristine waters of the Gascoyne Coast, the region provides an extraordinary palette of flavours for creative chefs.
For Jessica, the opportunity to work directly with growers and producers and create a menu inspired entirely by the region was impossible to resist.
The Plantation Feast is more than a lunch. It is a celebration of the people, produce and stories that make the Gascoyne one of Australia’s most remarkable food destinations.
A Menu Created for This Place and This Moment
Guests attending the Plantation Feast will enjoy a menu designed exclusively for the event by Jessica Roe and her team from Petition.
Drawing inspiration from the region’s plantations, coastline and producers, the menu showcases the very best of the Gascoyne through a series of carefully curated dishes that celebrate freshness, seasonality and provenance.
From local seafood and premium meats to the region’s famous fruit and vegetables, every course has been crafted to reflect the landscape in which it is served.
This is not a menu that could be replicated in Perth, Melbourne or Sydney.
It belongs to the Gascoyne.
Perfectly Paired with Di Latte Estate Wines
An exceptional menu deserves exceptional wines.
The Plantation Feast is proudly partnered with Di Latte Estate, one of Western Australia’s most respected boutique wineries.
Each course has been thoughtfully paired with Di Latte Estate wines, selected to complement and elevate the flavours of the menu while showcasing the quality and character of Western Australian winemaking.
Together, Jessica’s menu and the Di Latte wine pairings create a dining experience that celebrates the best of Western Australia’s food and wine culture.
A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience
Imagine arriving at a working mango plantation as the afternoon light softens across the rows of trees.
The long table stretches beneath the blossoms. Glasses are filled. Conversations begin. Growers, visitors, chefs and food lovers gather together to celebrate the region’s harvest.
Then comes a menu designed by one of Australia’s most exciting chefs, paired with outstanding wines and served in a setting that simply cannot be recreated anywhere else.
This is the Plantation Feast.
Seats are strictly limited and demand is expected to be high.
